I observed something very peculiar about the Bay Area. The political correctness seems to have overtaken as the new Constitution of our nation and the truth. I know that this new apostasy is strong in many colleges and universities. Many university students proclaim that universities are NOT places for diverse intellectual environments, but safe places where students can learn and feel good about subjects that comforts them. However, I did not realize that even private work sectors and Christianity harbor the“feeling is your god” mentality.
What is the origin of these feelings based “I am entitled to feel good”, “I should be feeling safe”, and “I should not be offended in anyway.” Where do these ideas come from? I always thought that these strange and disturbing ideas infiltrated work places and Christianity from too much privileged university students. I am beginning to think that it may be the other way. I know that Friedrich Schleiermacher, a liberal German pastor, is usually credited for introducing feelings based truths to enter the Christianity. I really wonder if modern Christianity pursuing the “seek-friendly”, “no-discipline faith”, “we only need love" may be one of the major contributors to this strange movement and infected our youths to beliefs that the world and God owe them "feeling good environments and places wherever we go..."
