As I was reading through Matt. 10:13-15, I found it strange that Jesus told twelve apostles that if anyone will not "receive you or listen to your words, shake off the dust from your feet when you leave that house or town".  I ponder on the almost callous way that Jesus spoke to those who will not accept the gospel.  He was loving enough to send his disciples, but he certainly wasn't telling his disciples to cling to those who reject the message desperately trying to convert them.  Jesus said, "My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me".   I wonder if we are overthinking and overstepping our roles as we share the gospel by trying to convert people through our own will. Instead, once we share the gospel in loving and gentle way, trust God to do the rest since it is by God's grace they are saved through faith...

Matt. 10:13-15

13 And if the house is worthy, let your peace come upon it, but if it is not worthy, let your peace return to you. 14 And if anyone will not receive you or listen to your words, shake off the dust from your feet when you leave that house or town. 15 Truly, I say to you, it will be more bearable on the day of judgment for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah than for that town.
