최강 브라질 아마존 선교 Day 7 > 선교 일지

샬롬 그리스도의 평강을 전합니다.

오늘은 브라질 아마존 사역의 마지막 날이자, 아마존 강변마을 빈민촌에서 사역을 하는 날입니다.

오늘의 스캐쥴은 그 동안 마나우스 여러 지역에서 하였던 것 같이 VBS와 의료 사역을 진행 하도록 하였습니다.

얼마나 아이들과 환자들이 올지 모르는 상황에서, 아침부터 90도에 육박하는 더위를 이겨네며

하나님이 사랑하시는 그 땅, 아마존 강변 마을 빈민촌 으로 출발 하였습니다.

Shalom! May the peace of Christ be with you.

Today marks the final day of our mission in Brazil’s Amazon—and it is also the day we serve in one of the riverbank villages, a community living in poverty along the Amazon River.

Our schedule followed the same pattern as in other areas of Manaus:
VBS (Vacation Bible School) and medical outreach.

Not knowing how many children or patients would gather, we set out early in the morning, braving the intense heat nearing 90°F (32°C).

With hearts full of expectancy, we headed toward the Amazon riverside village, trusting that God loves this land and is already at work there.

그렇게 40여분을 달려 첫 날 아마존에서 배를 타고 들어갔었던, 항구 Porto Da Ceasa에 도착을 하엿습니다.

After about 40 minutes of driving, we arrived at Porto da Ceasa, the same port where we had first boarded the boat on our very first day in the Amazon.

Returning to this familiar place brought back memories of that initial excitement and nervous anticipation—only this time, we came with hearts full of testimonies and gratitude for all that God has already done.

하나 둘 버스에 실었던 짐들을 하나하나 꺼내어 배에 실어야 했습니다.

그러나 늘 탔던 그 큰 배가 아니라, 관광용 모터 보트였습니다...

40여분을 달려 드디어 마을이 모이기 시작했습니다.

bout 40 more minutes on the road, we finally began to see signs of the village coming into view.

There was a quiet sense of anticipation in the air—hearts prepared, hands ready, and prayers lifted for the people we were about to meet.

막상 도착을 하니 상황이 더욱 열악했습니.

들어가는 입구에서 부터 험란함이 찾아왔는데요, 배에서 내려 본당에 까지 가기가 푹푹 발이 빠지는 것 이, 단순이 늪에 개념에서 벗어나, 

닭과 버팔로 개 등 가축들의 베설물과 재래식 화장실에서 나오는 인분들 등 모두가 땅으로 내려가 아마존 강물가 섞여 이상한 냄새도 나고 씻기을 수도 없이 불편하지만, 

그리스도의 사랑을 전하기 위해 계속해서 불편한 상황에도 나아가자 라고 고백했던 것들로 버티고 또 하나님의 사랑이 오늘 우리로 인해 강변에 

잘 뿌리 내려 질수록 기도하며 하나 둘 짐을 옮겼습니다

Upon arrival, it became immediately clear just how serious the situation was.

From the very entrance into the village, we faced challenges. As we disembarked from the boat and began walking toward the main church building, our feet sank deeply into the soft, muddy ground.

It wasn’t just a typical marshland—what we encountered was a mix of animal waste from chickens, buffaloes, and dogs, along with human waste from rudimentary, traditional latrines. The smell was overwhelming, and basic hygiene was difficult to maintain.

Yet in the midst of it all, we remembered our confession: to make the name of the Lord holy.

With that heart, we pressed on—praying that the work we had committed to, and the name of the Lord we proclaimed, would take deep root in this riverside village. One by one, we carried our supplies into the village, trusting God for strength and purpose.

아침 부터 환자들로 북적이기 시작한 의료사역팀

From early in the morning, the medical missions team was already bustling with patients.

드디어 한 장소에 모두 모인 팀원들은 재정비후 각자의 자리로 흩어져 오늘의 사역을 시작하기로 하였습니다.

Finally gathered in one place, we took a moment to regroup and reorganize. After that, each team member dispersed to their respective areas to begin the day’s ministry.

계속 사역을 하며 아픈 팀원들이 계속해서 속출하였습니다.

간단한 치료후 기도로서 서로를 중보해 주며 사역을 시작 하였습니다.

Even up to today, some of our team members were feeling unwell.

After receiving basic treatment, we began the day by interceding for one another in prayer.

VBS를 진행하게될 빨간 건물, 배가 정박해 있는 물가와 가까이 있어 쉽게 이동할수 있을수 있지만, 다치거나 지병이 있는 사람들이 오래 걷지 못하여 그들을 위하여 기도하는 마음으로 

이동하였고

The red building where the VBS would take place was conveniently located near the waterfront where our boat was docked. However, since some individuals had health issues or difficulty walking long distances, we took time to pray for them with care and compassion.

묵묵히 밖깥 상황의 불편함을 잠시 내려놓고, VBS를 위해 최선을 다 하기를 다짐 했습니다.

We shared snacks and created special memories with the VBS children.

이렇게 오전 사역을 마무리 하게 되었습니다.

잠시 쉬고 바로 오후 사역으로 돌아 올께요!

This is how we concluded the morning ministry.

We will take a short break and return soon for the afternoon ministry!

이제 점심시간 

서로 다른 두 공간으로 나누어져 있다보니 배달? 도 살짝 필요했네요 ㅎㅎ

Now it’s lunchtime!

Since we were split into two separate areas, a little bit of “delivery service” was needed to get everyone fed

그렇게 열심히 점심을 먹고 바로 찬양과 율동으로 VBS오후 세션을 시작 하였습니다

After a hearty lunch, we jumped right back in—starting the afternoon VBS session with lively praise and energetic dance!

그렇게 VBS 오후세션이 마무리가 되었습니다!!!

And just like that, the afternoon session of VBS came to a close!!! 

Despite the heat, the mud, and all the challenges, we were able to pour out our hearts and energy for the children.
It was a time full of laughter, songs, crafts, and most importantly—God’s love.
We wrapped up with thankful hearts, knowing that even in the most humble places, God is doing great things.

VBS and medical missions in this riverside village have come to a meaningful close. 
Now it’s time to pack up once again and head back to the boat.

Though the conditions were difficult, God's grace allowed us to complete every part of the ministry.
As we carry our supplies and make our way through the muddy paths, our hearts are full—knowing we’ve shared the love of Christ with even the least and the lost.

Now, onward we go—back to the boat, and back to the city, carrying unforgettable memories and stories of faith.

그리고 막간을 이용하여, 하나님이 허락하신 선교의 시간가운데 받았던 은혜를 나누는 시간도 가졌습니다.

교회 성도님들의 지속적인 응원의 기도 덕분에 모든 사역들을 잘 마치고 내일은 아마존 강가를 둘러보는 땅 밝기로 하루를 보냅니다.

돌아가는 발걸음 까지, 안전하게 돌아갈수 있도록 부디 아무런 사건 사고 없이 모두 집으로 잘 돌아갈수 있도록, 계속해서 기도해 주시면 감사하겠습니다.

Thanks to the continuous prayers and support from our church family, we were able to complete all our ministries safely and with grace.

Tomorrow, we’ll spend a day exploring and giving thanks—walking the land along the Amazon River one last time before we head home.

Please continue to pray for our safe return, that every step on our way back would be covered by God’s protection, and that each team member arrives home without any incident.
